This series consists of black ink drawings, all based on crayon sketches, some of them enriched by watercolor. The main sources of inspiration for this series are Medieval manuscript drawings. The works span from clear figuration— close to illustration and even comic book drawings—to deep abstraction; from colorful compositions to black and white juxtapositions; from drawings focused on the human body to drawings featuring only architecture.
The eclecticism dominating this series breaks from the consistency on which all the other series are based and beside the aforementioned sources, it relates to Surrealist and Metaphysical painting and how these two avant-garde movements were often put in close connection, despite their undeniable differences in style, subject matter and composition.
